Next week, I’m heading to Dallas for market, and I am more than a little excited.
One of my biggest goals for this trip is simple: I want to put my hands on the products before I bring them to Annie Shore.
Shopping online for inventory certainly has its place, but a photograph can only tell you so much. I want to feel the fabric, see how a garment hangs, look closely at the stitching and details, and get a better idea of how something will actually look and feel when you wear it.
Because when I choose something for Annie Shore, I’m not just choosing something that looks pretty in a picture. I’m choosing something that I hope you’ll be excited to pack for a vacation, wear to dinner by the water, throw on for a resort afternoon, or reach for again and again.
Why Quality Matters to Me
Annie Shore is still growing, and I’m learning more every day about what I want this boutique to become.
One thing I already know is that I would rather offer a thoughtfully chosen collection than add products simply because I can.
That means asking myself:
Does the fabric feel good?
Does it look as nice in person as it does in the photos?
Does the quality match the price?
Would I personally be happy if this arrived on my doorstep?
And most importantly—would I feel good about selling it to you?
If the answer isn't yes, it probably doesn't belong at Annie Shore.
What I'll Be Looking for in Dallas
Of course, I'll be looking for beautiful resort wear—dresses, coverups, easy vacation pieces and those special finds that make you immediately start thinking about where you could wear them.
I’ll also be looking at swimwear. I haven’t added swimsuits to Annie Shore yet because that is one category where I really want to see and feel the quality, fabric and construction before I bring it to the shop.
But more than anything, I’m going with a clearer vision of the Annie Shore woman and the direction I want the boutique to take.
I want pieces that feel elevated but still wearable. Vacation-worthy without being something you only wear once. Comfortable, flattering and just a little special.
And if I stumble across something completely unexpected that makes me stop and say, Oh, I love that?
Well…that is part of the fun of market.

This is one of the parts of building Annie Shore that I'm most excited about—the hunt.
Finding those pieces that feel just right.
Because ultimately, I don't want Annie Shore to be a website filled with things.
I want it to be a collection of things worth finding.
